Waupaca County Nutrition Advisory Committee meeting on October 3, 2026: members reviewed nutrition-program operations and service access. Home-delivered meals had a waitlist of about 28 people; 12 people were enrolled in August using a major gift grant. Staff plan to assess participants using a state-provided scoring tool, with reassessments intended to help prioritize meal allocations and identify when short-term, recuperative service should end. The committee also reviewed congregate meal participation at the Waupaca and New London sites and the completed distribution of $25 booklets through the Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program.
Staff outlined planned 2027 changes to Beastro 60: participants will use scannable cards rather than paper copies, receive up to 10 vouchers per month, and re-register when updated forms are available. Members discussed improving outreach and volunteer recruitment, and noted occasional meal-supply shortages from Schuler’s, which staff said the vendor responds to promptly. No new contract award, procurement approval, or spending motion was identified; the committee approved the agenda and prior meeting record.
