Waupaca County Finance Committee meeting, September 9, 2026: The committee received the county’s audit presentation from CLA. The committee heard that the county’s public transportation ride program had completed about 14,510 rides. A $50,000 grant may subsidize 90% of eligible Uber rides, and staff are pursuing employer and municipal contributions to keep the program budget-neutral; sponsorship proposals include $50,000 and $30,000 levels. Three vehicles were expected soon, with sponsorship wraps under discussion. The committee accepted a $1,400 donation for the nutrition program, approved monthly payments totaling $13,253.92, and advanced several departmental budgets in the budget process. It voted to deny a resolution supporting a state revenue increase proposal; the roughly $8,700 Wisconsin Counties Association dues were discussed separately. No contract award or borrowing decision was made.
