The Waupaca County Human Services Board met on August 5, 2026. Staff presented updates on behavioral health wraparound services, nutrition services, school partnerships, and youth justice programs. The board discussed feedback and corrective steps for the Clintonville meal program, including changes made with caterer JJ’s on Main; no new catering contract or purchase was approved. Staff also noted that budget discussions were expected at the September meeting, with a special meeting possible if needed, and provided personnel and recruitment updates.

The primary procurement-related action concerned specialized transportation for seniors and people with disabilities, currently provided through volunteer drivers and supported by Wisconsin Department of Transportation grants. A motion to issue an RFP to explore transportation service options, without committing the county to outsourcing, was approved. Staff said they would assess service and cost implications and return with findings, tentatively at the October meeting. The board also discussed recruiting for a vacant speech therapist position, but took no spending action on that topic.
