Waupaca County Nutrition Advisory Council meeting, July 17, 2026: The council received updates on senior farmers’ market vouchers, congregate dining, home-delivered meals, and the Beastro 60 restaurant program. In-person congregate dining at Trinity in Waupaca was scheduled to resume July 20. Staff reported that Trinity’s rent had increased under a newly signed contract and that they had explored a less expensive location, though that search is currently paused. No contract amount was stated. For home-delivered meals, staff described a waiting list of about 25–26 people and budget pressures; the county received a state special-gift grant with no required county match, which can help restore service as funding and expenses are assessed. Staff said they may apply for additional funds monthly, but no amount or spending vote was reported. JJ’s is providing meals in the Clintonville area following an RFP process; staff are addressing participant feedback and considering changes to meal pickup arrangements. Beastro 60 participation was described as steady, with annual paperwork underway for roughly 700 participants.
The council approved the previous meeting’s minutes. Proposed bylaw revisions, including a provision for the Department of Human Services Board to appoint a county board supervisor to the council, were read for consideration; no adoption vote was evident in the transcript. Members were asked to complete site visits and provide feedback at the next meeting. No new contract award or procurement approval was recorded.
