The La Crosse Public Schools Board of Education regular meeting on September 14, 2026, included approval of the superintendent’s and board consent agendas, with the superintendent’s agenda limited to HR approvals. The board also approved monitoring reports on the instructional program (compliant with exceptions noted) and asset protection (in compliance). No contract awards, bids, or vendor selections were considered. The proposed 2026–27 budget was informational only; the board is scheduled to consider it on September 28 after updated enrollment and state-aid figures are available. Current estimates include a $43.8 million operating levy, $38.1 million in state equalization aid, $83.6 million for salaries and benefits, and $1.64 million in capital outlay. The district also reviewed planned capital maintenance and improvement work. These figures remain estimates, not spending approvals.

The asset-protection report noted an additional builder’s-risk insurance policy for construction at Hogan Elementary and reported that 4,881 of 4,887 maintenance requests were completed during the 2025–26 school year. The board voted to enter closed session to discuss the sale of Lincoln Middle School property. A districtwide technology advisory effort and planned student-information-system migration were discussed, but no related procurement decisions were made.
