The West Bend School District Board of Education met on August 24, 2026. The board approved the agenda and consent agenda; no procurement awards or purchasing decisions were identified. In the final 2025β26 financial report, the assistant superintendent said the district ended the year balanced, within its original and amended expenditure budgets, and within the boardβs 10β20% general-fund-balance policy. The district also remains more than a year ahead of its funding schedule for its other post-employment benefits trust. A proposed shift to a percentage-based employee cost share for dental insurance was discussed as advance notice only; no action was requested.
The board reviewed preliminary 2026β27 budget assumptions and the proposed agenda and tax-levy resolution for the September 28 annual meeting. The administration has developed a balanced preliminary budget, with the mill rate projected to remain at $6.14 for a third consecutive year. The proposed levy is just over $57 million: about $10 million for referendum debt service, more than $800,000 for community services, and about $45.5 million for the general fund, including an estimated $6.9 million for the private-school voucher program. The levy and budget remain preliminary; the board is scheduled to consider the annual-meeting materials on September 14 and approve the final budget and tax levy on October 26. No spending-related motions or procurement actions were taken.
