The WAWM School Board meeting on July 27, 2026, included a workshop on recreation projects and a five-year financial stabilization plan. Staff presented concepts for an Activity and Fitness Center expansion with a warm-water pool and lap/walking pool, and an outdoor community complex at Franklin Lloyd Wright featuring a track, athletic facilities, and an amphitheater. The pool project was estimated at $10–12 million, with approximately $50,000 in annual revenue projected to offset operating costs. Staff also outlined a proposed strategy involving a full Fund 10 underlevy and borrowing to defease existing capital-bond debt; they estimated it could save taxpayers more than $15 million in interest while allowing the projects to proceed without increasing the tax levy. These proposals were discussed in a workshop, with further consideration expected at the August 10 meeting; no project or financing plan was approved at this meeting.

The board approved a $20,000 donation from Greenfield Avenue Presbyterian Church for Hoover Elementary student opportunities, including field trips, clubs, before- and after-school care, and music-related costs. It also approved an easement at Mitchell Elementary for the City of West Allis to install a streetlight pole and related wiring; no cost was stated. Other approved items included the consent agenda and policy actions, including updates to comply with 2025 Wisconsin Act 89. Public commenters advocated for rebuilding the Franklin Lloyd Wright track and requested family notification about a proposed warming shelter; neither matter resulted in board action during the meeting.
