The City of Fort Worth Community Development Committee met on October 13, 2026. Park and Recreation staff presented a developing master plan assessing 25 community facilities and identifying service gaps, including in East Fort Worth. Staff discussed a proposed Wood Haven Community Center at the former clubhouse site, consistent with the Wood Haven Conservation Plan. The project has an estimated total TIF request of $28 million; staff said it plans to seek approximately $2.5 million from TIF 13 at the November 4 board meeting for land acquisition and the center master plan. TIF 13 has an estimated $27.3 million balance and terminates at the end of 2028, so funds must be allocated to eligible projects before then. No funding approval or contract award occurred at this meeting; the master plan is scheduled for further review, with possible council consideration in December.

The committee also received an update on a seven-month community-quarterback training program, for which Main Street America staff and city staff will provide training, and on the nuisance enforcement task force’s pilot results and planned monitoring. The task force has added an officer, supervisor, and two inspectors, with capacity to be reassessed after six months. The committee unanimously approved the September 15 minutes; no procurement vote was taken.
