The Livonia Public Schools Board of Education’s regular meeting on October 19, 2026, recognized two Ford Philanthropy grants made during Ford’s Month of Caring. A $9,300 grant supports computer purchases for the district’s high school robotics program, including programming and animation testing; a $10,000 grant to the LPS Education Foundation funded backpacks and school supplies distributed to students at four elementary schools. More than 50 employees of the Livonia Transmission Plant helped prepare the backpacks. The Foundation also applied the $630 remaining from the backpack purchase to winter coats, mittens, and gloves for Garfield Garments and Groceries. These grants were recognized at the meeting; no new procurement award or spending vote was reported.

The board also unanimously approved a teacher appointment, tenure for three teachers, and appreciation resolutions for three retiring operations employees. It adopted a second-reading revision to the board policy on library media centers. No other contract awards, bids, or capital project decisions were identified.
