The Lawrence City Council’s Ordinance/Government Relations Committee and Committee of the Whole met on October 13, 2026. The main procurement- and infrastructure-related item was National Grid’s request to install a joint utility pole on Marston Street at Brookline Street (pole 4630-50) for system-reliability upgrades. The committee voted to send the petition to the full council with a recommendation to order a public hearing. No contract award, vendor selection, purchase, or budget allocation was considered, and no project cost was stated.

The Ordinance Committee referred several parking and traffic matters for review by city engineering, DPW, and/or police, including a proposed one-way design and angled parking on Orchard Street and infrastructure assessments tied to traffic changes. In the Committee of the Whole, members voted to forward a resolution expressing no confidence in Mayor Brian A. DePena to the full council with a favorable recommendation; it is scheduled for consideration on October 20. The committee also requested an update on the related legal proceedings. No additional procurement activity was identified.
