Klamath County Board of Commissioners livestock hearing, October 13, 2026: The board heard testimony about two dogs that entered a goat enclosure and attacked livestock. The goat owner reported one goat died and later located another that had gone missing. The sheriff’s representative described the investigation and noted that the dog owner had been cited under the county’s potentially dangerous dog ordinance; that citation was to be handled in Justice Court.
The board found the Pyrenees responsible for killing a goat and approved a $500 penalty. It also approved $1,500 in compensation for the goat and $135 in animal-control boarding fees, for a stated total of $2,135, and ordered the dog surrendered to the county for humane euthanasia. The owner was to complete surrender paperwork with Animal Control, which would arrange payment to the goat owner. No procurement activity was identified.
