At its October 13, 2026 meeting, the Lafayette City Council unanimously approved revisions to the city’s project list for Contra Costa Transportation Authority’s Countywide Transportation Plan and identified the Aqueduct Pathway and a Pleasant Hill Road multimodal corridor study, including the Highway 24 interchange, as Lafayette’s priorities for potential inclusion as named projects in a future countywide Transportation Expenditure Plan. The council also added a proposed autonomous shuttle service on Mount Diablo Boulevard and through downtown to the project list, and requested that Pleasant Hill be included among the partners for the corridor study. These are planning priorities, not funding or contract approvals; the TEP is under development for a potential 2028 ballot measure, and no project costs or awards were presented. Separately, the council voted 3–1 to reintroduce an objective-design-standards ordinance with proposed changes limiting individual window panes to six square feet and clarifying that windows must use at least one listed design feature; the amended ordinance is to return at the next meeting for adoption. No contract awards or other purchasing decisions were identified.
