Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 Board work session, October 13, 2026 (Part 2). The board reviewed summer capital improvement work funded in part by the district’s 10-year plant facilities levy approved in 2020. Staff reported more than 95 projects, including a 30-year roof at Century High School, five science rooms at Highland, campus and parking improvements, restroom renovations, track work, and an upgraded fire-alarm system at Pocatello High School. A 35-foot flagpole has been ordered for Lookout Field. For the Washington Building, the district has entered into an agreement with local Kirkham Appraisals; an appraisal was expected for the November board meeting. No contract amounts or procurement votes were reported.

The board discussed a proposed capital-project advisory committee policy but deferred further consideration while members gather information and suggest revisions. The superintendent reported enrollment was down about 300 students and projected a midyear budget adjustment of approximately $1.8 million from reserves, tempering discussion of a possible JROTC program; members agreed to gather information on application requirements and costs for a later work session. The board expressed consensus to schedule action the following week on retaining the five-day school week and current trimester schedule; no votes were taken at this work session. The discussion also covered career and technical education survey results and revisions to an athletics participation policy.
