Planning Commission Regular Meeting 10/13/2026 6PM

The Eureka Springs Planning Commission regular meeting on October 13, 2026, approved several land-use applications. Tree removal of two living trees at 1 Charles Circle passed 4–1. Commercial construction applications were approved for a deck and swinging bridge at 3010 East Van Buren, and a roof over a drive-through and patio at 116 East Van Buren; both approvals require building department and fire department approval of drawings and specifications. A pickleball court at 163 East Van Buren was also approved. The application for a roof over a recessed courtyard at 115 West Van Buren was deferred so commissioners could ask questions. The commission approved sending a revised outdoor sales ordinance to City Council for review. No contract awards, purchasing decisions, or spending amounts were identified.

Commissioners discussed developing a special-use-permit ordinance, including which uses and zones it might cover, approval procedures, and possible fees; Susan was asked to research the issue and report back. The sidewalk ordinance was removed from the agenda. The commission also continued work on the vision plan and requested an update on the GIS project previously authorized in March, with McClellan identified as the party authorized to perform the work.
