The City of Eureka Springs Planning Commission held a Vision Plan workshop on October 13, 2026, to review and update the existing plan. Members discussed improving the document’s presentation with images and graphics, and agreed to keep the review focused on removing or revising outdated material rather than commissioning a new plan at this stage. They discussed adding a broad goal of making transit-pass purchases easy both digitally and in person, retaining consideration of alternate routes and traffic information, continuing coordination with ARDOT on possible crosswalks, and keeping large-vehicle movement in town as an issue for further consideration. They also agreed to remove a proposal concerning curb cuts in private parking areas because the matter may fall outside city jurisdiction.
No procurement actions, contract awards, or spending votes were identified. Members noted that the commission currently has no budget to hire a professional planner; after the updated plan is presented to City Council, the council could decide whether to fund further planning work. The commission expects to continue the vision-plan review at a future workshop.
