At the October 13, 2026 Uintah County Commission meeting, commissioners approved warrants totaling $965,678.68, including a $415,911.72 Central Canal payment funded through a federal grant; the county will hold that check until it receives the grant funds. The commission opened RFP UC 26-14 for the county building’s north parking lot and entrance remodel. Three bids were received, including submissions from North Peak Construction and Acme Construction; the bids will be reviewed by a committee and brought back at a future meeting. Commissioners also approved a reimbursement contract with the Uintah Basin Association of Governments for up to $150,000 toward interior and exterior work for the Ashley Valley Food Pantry project, funded by the Uintah Basin Revitalization Board.
Human Resources presented a recommendation, following a competitive bid process, to move employee health coverage to Regence BlueCross BlueShield and add HealthJoy services. The presentation cited an approximately $20,000 cost for ending the current carrier contracts that Regence would cover, a $40,000 claims-runoff credit, and a recommended 3–5% premium increase. HealthJoy was estimated at $327 per employee annually; the proposal would replace an employee assistance program costing $14,364 per year, with short-term disability coverage for hourly employees also discussed. No commission approval of these benefit proposals is evident in the available transcript. The commission separately approved four museum policies covering NAGPRA compliance, digital content, photography/filming, and child and vulnerable-adult safety.
