The PRJUSD Board meeting on October 13, 2026, included several procurement and spending matters. The board postponed action on a proposed $429,800 design contract with 19.6 Architects for new high school tennis courts, following a staff request for more time to explain the campus facility master plan and project phases to the community. Public commenters raised questions about the firm’s campaign contributions, the selection process, and Measure G26; no contract award was made. The board approved quarterly policy updates, including CSBA-recommended travel-expense language, on a 5–1 vote; a proposal to require board approval for expenses above federal GSA per diem rates was discussed but was not included in the motion that passed. The board also accepted donations of $1,000 and $200 from trustees for district student groups.
As an information item, staff presented a plan for a culinary assistant position at classified salary range 25, funded by CTEIG, to support reopening a public-facing culinary storefront; staff anticipated returning for board approval and recruiting in October or early November. Store sales would support the culinary program. The board also received updates on a $228,178 scholarship endowment and quarterly workplace safety incidents. A request for a written legal opinion regarding potential conflicts connected with Measure G26 and district contracting did not receive a second, so no action was taken.
