🏗️ Construction & Infrastructure 🚨 Public Safety Physical Infrastructure Grants & Funding

At the October 13, 2026 regular meeting of the Davis County Commission, commissioners unanimously approved several agreements and funding items. These included Utah Jazz youth basketball games at Western Sports Park; transportation-fund interlocal agreements with Centerville City for $1 million toward a 1250 West sidewalk project and with Layton City for $1.73 million toward an ADA-compliant pedestrian bridge over the Union Pacific Railroad and FrontRunner tracks; and a facilities item relocating a Rocky Mountain Power transformer cabinet. The commission also approved health department contract amendments with the Utah Department of Health and Human Services, including receivables of $106,351, $33,262, $123,421, $7,247, and $32,935, among other items. Sheriff’s Office approvals included a Tech 84 body scanner and five-year service agreement for $174,835, a Clinton City dispatch-services amendment for $30,183.45, and a $25,000 DUI enforcement equipment grant. Other approved items included election equipment maintenance, a Zions Bank property-tax payment arrangement, and consent agenda items. The commission also approved amendments to the county vehicle-emissions ordinance, including allowing qualifying mobile emissions contractors to obtain station permits.

The commission held a public hearing on the Community Development Block Grant report; staff reported that seven projects received a total of $835,000 in the prior year, supporting homeownership assistance, home rehabilitation, public services, and infrastructure. No action was required after the hearing. A public commenter highlighted future demand for home-repair and accessibility services. Commissioners also approved revised accident-review committee policy and routine meeting minutes. The transcript does not clearly capture a vote on the scheduled December 8, 2026 public hearing for the tentative 2027 budget.
