The NCLUSD Board’s monthly meeting on October 12, 2026, included updates on school programs, staffing, attendance, and facilities. A classified staff representative urged trustees to protect staffing close to students during budget constraints. Oristima High School staff presented updates on student programs and its new track, which had opened for use; the superintendent said an official ribbon cutting was planned for October 23. No cost or construction contractor was identified for the track project.
Facilities work remains in the planning or bidding stage: the superintendent said the district had an agreement with architect TPH to advance a parking-lot project at the high school and lighting for the softball and baseball fields. A title search is underway for part of the field that is city-owned, and the district expects to proceed to bidding after resolving the property-record issue. Bids for the Von Rener project, described as asphalt replacement, were scheduled to open October 21; no bid approval or contract award was reported. The board also scheduled a budget workshop for October 26. No procurement-related dollar amounts or vendor selections were stated.
