At the October 13, 2026 New Castle Town Board meeting, staff presented numerous purchasing and contract items for the consent agenda. These included nine fire hydrants ($40,854), additional pump-station construction oversight ($10,400), a water-department Ford F-150 from Van Bortel Ford ($40,712.35) using an Onondaga County bid, police holsters ($8,496.77), ammunition ($10,566.48), four replacement AEDs ($7,200), Chappaqua train-station roof repairs from Armortite Construction ($23,854), and police-station bathroom tile work from M&M Stone Design ($14,519.21). Other items included sidewalk snow removal contract DPW 2026-06, with Hilltop Masonry as the sole bidder; holiday lighting from the low bidder, Christmas Lighting Company ($22,750); and municipal solid-waste and recycling contract DPW 2026-07 with incumbent sole bidder San-Pro, for three years with two one-year extension options and a 3.85% increase in residential collection. The board was also asked to authorize bidding the Metro-North trenchless water-main crossing project, extend coach-bus service with JR Tours, approve a Logically contract extension (including $16,668.12 for backup storage), approve NYCLASS’s fixed-rate municipal investment program, and add asset and data-tracking functions to the town’s work-order system for $20,000. The transcript does not capture individual votes on these procurement items; it records unanimous votes on payment-of-claims resolutions and several appointments.

The board also received a planning update on 50 North Greeley: signed site plans were returned to the applicant, who must satisfy further conditions and obtain outside-agency approvals before applying for a building permit; construction is estimated at 18 months to two years. Residents raised safety concerns about a fence near a school-bus stop and requested town support for safety improvements along Summerstown Road, where the state is undertaking a paving project. The town administrator reported that Route 120 construction remained on schedule and that staff were exploring improved train-station Wi-Fi using existing service. No procurement decision was reported for these updates.
