The RPS Board of Education Outreach Committee met on October 13, 2026, to hear updates from student, parent, teacher, and school-program representatives. The RHS student body president reported on school activities, student leadership, academic recognition, and athletics. PTA Joint Council described its nine units’ activities and raised concerns about declining volunteer participation and tighter school budgets, noting that PTA fundraising supports enrichment such as visiting authors, STEM experiences, playground equipment, scholarships, and teacher grants. Members discussed improving two-way communication and collaboration between the Board and PTAs; no action or vote was recorded.

NE representatives discussed teacher retention, staffing shortages, workload, and the need to balance new curriculum and strategic-planning initiatives with teacher capacity. Prospect Ridge staff and students described the opening of dedicated space for transition and alternative high school programs, including community-based work experience and partnerships. The committee also noted that new state rules about district communication concerning budget referendums may be addressed at the policy level. No contracts, vendor selections, spending approvals, or other procurement activity were identified.
