The October 13, 2026 Litchfield Elementary School District #79 board meeting included student and staff recognition and a presentation on Belen Soto’s math and ELA intervention practices. The board approved the district’s FY2026 annual financial report by a unanimous vote. The report said M&O spending was about $481,000 below projection and the district used approximately $2.2 million of M&O carryforward, about $1 million less than forecast. The district also reported approximately $11.7 million in M&O override spending, largely supporting staffing, intervention programs, school nurses, and employee compensation; no vendor awards or new contracts were identified.

The board received updates on bond spending, with no bond-related vote recorded. The 2014 $35 million bond authorization had about $1.1 million in cash remaining after approximately $33.9 million in spending. Under the 2023 $100 million authorization, reported FY2026 expenditures included about $2.1 million for camera systems, $917,000 for front-office remodels, and $35.8 million for Troy Gilbert Elementary through June 30; the school’s final cost is pending project closeout. The district also reported purchasing six school buses and spending capital funds on curriculum, Chromebooks, classroom technology, copy machines, and network equipment. A discussion of a district-wide value proposition may inform future priorities and resource allocation, but remains in development.
