The Polk County Commissioners Court’s regular session on October 13, 2026, approved funding for the Sheriff’s Office Flock license-plate reader system from excess revenues; the agenda item identified a $45,000 county funding request, in addition to $9,000 previously committed from the asset-forfeiture fund. The Court also approved replacing the jail door-control and access system with Sedaptic for $291,332.76, using excess revenues. The Court directed staff to incorporate specified service and support terms into the agreement. This followed consideration of an MTS upgrade proposal for $54,600 and discussion of ongoing system reliability and maintenance costs. Separately, five courthouse-furnishing proposals totaling $35,169.10 were approved for inclusion in the FY2027 reimbursement resolution. The Court approved judicial liability coverage quoted at $1,500 per judge annually, or $3,000 per year if both policies are bound.
The Court tabled a proposed Sheriff’s Office dispatch upgrade to 700/800 MHz pending updated vendor quotes. Earlier quotes were $286,648.89 from Motorola Solutions, with estimated annual network fees, and $447,462.84 from L3 Harris, with no annual network fee. The Court also approved two subdivision replats and advanced proposed subdivision-regulation revisions, including road-frontage requirements, to a public hearing scheduled for November 20; these changes may affect future land development. Other procurement-related activity included FY2026 and FY2027 budget addenda and amendments. No vendor award was recorded for the dispatch upgrade at this meeting.
