The Lebanon Community School Corporation Board of School Trustees’ regular meeting on October 13, 2026, included several budget and facilities matters. The board approved the three-year capital projects plan and bus replacement plan, along with a resolution establishing the maximum tax rate; the superintendent said the rate would be lower and provide relief to taxpayers not at the property-tax cap. The board also approved a high school hardscape improvement plan to address parking-lot drainage and paving, and approved a utility easement for Fischer Homes. Change orders were described as a net return to the district. No dollar amounts were stated for these approvals, and no construction contract award was made. Staff presented 90% designs for athletic facilities and high school renovations; construction documents are expected to proceed to bid in the coming months, with work anticipated to begin early next year.

The board approved classified-staff insurance premium contributions, a Cummins annual agreement for mental health services, and staff matters; it also approved claims and payrolls. The district reported receiving a $75,000 planning grant from the Lilly Endowment to prepare an application for a potential grant exceeding $2.4 million for student-success initiatives; the larger grant has not yet been awarded. In a separate public meeting, administrators outlined a tentative teacher agreement averaging about a 6.5% increase across salary-table steps, funded in part by accessing cash reserves. The teachers’ association reported that it had ratified the agreement; board ratification was still pending and may require a special meeting before the November 1 deadline.
