The Marshfield School Committee meeting on October 13, 2026, included budget and facilities updates but no local contract awards, bid approvals, or vendor selections. The district reported that FY2026 year-end financial information had been provided to the committee; budget planning has begun earlier than usual, while the town’s information needed to start capital-budget work was still pending. The Martinson roof project remained on track for work completion by the end of October and substantial completion, pending final paperwork, on November 6. The committee also heard that the Marshfield Food Pantry received a $10,000 Dunkin’ Donuts grant and is exploring vacation food support for students with the schools, and that an opioid-fund grant application could support eight additional student wellness trips.
The committee selected its delegates to the Massachusetts Association of School Committees and voted to support several resolutions for MASC advocacy, including transportation bidding procedures and Mass School Building Authority assistance programs; these votes were not approvals of local procurements. The meeting also covered amended state regulations on seclusion and time out, which will require policy updates, and a forthcoming policy review related to the Protect Act. Other discussion focused on early-childhood outreach, student health needs, assessment results, and special education programs and compliance.
