The Cache County Council’s regular meeting on October 13, 2026, included a discussion of Cache Valley transportation funding. The county executive proposed advising the COG board that Cache County could contribute about $4 million from its guideway fund to increase funding for prioritized regional road projects. The additional money could fully fund Wolfpack Way Phase C and extend funding to projects on 200 West/12 North and 200 West. This was a proposal for COG to consider, not an approved allocation; no spending vote was taken. The council also heard that the current COG allocation pool has about $8.317 million available, with funding expected to cover the top three projects fully and part of the fourth.

The council read corrected notices of proposed 2027 property-tax increases: $760,000 (3.73%) for combined general and health funds, $1.3 million (35.02%) for assessing and collecting property taxes, and $800,000 (100%) for municipal services, including fire protection and EMS in unincorporated areas. Public hearings on the tentative 2027 budget and proposed tax increases were scheduled for November 10 and November 17, respectively. No contract awards or bids were identified. The council also discussed development ordinances, continued consideration of a surface-fault study-zone requirement, and received an update that paving and surface work on SR 238 had been completed.
