The Coweta County Board of Education’s October 13, 2026 meeting included multiple procurement and facilities actions, all approved by 7–0 votes. The board approved FieldTurf cooperative-pricing proposals for summer 2027 football-field turf replacement at Newnan High School ($434,483) and Northgate High School ($438,536), funded with ESPLOST funds. It also awarded Arnold Middle School Phase 3 renovations—reroofing, kitchen work, and the gym-ceiling alternate—to Headley Construction Corporation, the highest-scoring proposer at 97.67 points, for $3,892,000. A $24,760 change order to relocate a fire department connection at Central Educational Center was approved to meet the fire marshal’s requirement.

Other approved purchases included a White Oak Elementary basketball-court replacement ($21,165.64), funded by its PTO; a Northgate High School baseball-field Aware camera system ($11,500); and a PTO-funded sunshade and digital sign at Newnan Crossing Elementary, with no cost stated. The board approved an application to the Georgia Department of Education for a potential Western Elementary addition or modernization, but clarified that this was not approval of the project itself. It also approved early December payroll and three student trips with no cost to the school system. The superintendent reported monthly spending $365,000 under budget and sales-tax receipts above $3.6 million, up 3% year over year. A proposed student electronic-device policy was placed on the table for public comment ahead of planned consideration in November to meet a state-law deadline.
