The City of Hot Springs Board of Directors’ October 13, 2026 agenda meeting reviewed items scheduled for formal consideration on October 20; no Board votes were taken during this agenda review. Procurement and funding items included a proposed $60,000 Arkansas Division of Aeronautics grant request for refurbishing windows in Airport Hangar A12, with the City pursuing a 50/50 grant and preparing a bid package. The City also plans to apply for $80,105 in Emergency Solutions Grant funding for Community Resource Center utilities, operations, and repairs, matched by an equal amount of eligible City expenses. The City Attorney presented proposed extensions through December 31, 2027, of the existing $125,000 agreement with Elevate Hot Springs for youth programming and a $75,000 services contract with the Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission for youth programs at Majestic Park. The Elevate item was moved from the consent agenda to new business so the organization could address questions, including concerns about its facility; a director said the Majestic Park contract might also be moved to new business.

Other items included a proposal to certify $333,901.46 in nuisance-abatement liens to the Garland County tax collector for collection on tax rolls, plus a 10% penalty (with 3% retained by the collector for administration). The agenda also included a nuisance-condemnation resolution, an amendment clarifying property-maintenance weed-height limits, and two zoning-map amendments. The City reported receiving an Arkansas Environment Federation Diamond Award for a water project involving a tunnel through a mountain, which it said avoided a substantial elevation change and would yield long-term savings; no project cost was stated.
