10.13.2026 City Council Regular Meeting

The West Valley City Council regular meeting was held October 13, 2026. The council unanimously approved Resolution 26-1120, an agreement granting Consolidated Electrical Distributors (CED) 25% of the city’s point-of-sale share of sales tax generated and paid by the company in connection with its relocation from Salt Lake City. The incentive runs for up to ten years and is capped at $9 million. The council also unanimously approved Resolution 26-123, authorizing a franchise agreement with Strata Networks to construct and maintain a telecommunications network in the city.

The council unanimously approved Ordinance 26-37, a first-quarter operating budget opening, and all five consent-agenda items, which included a grant agreement with the Utah Division of Arts and Museums, an MOU with the Utah Attorney General’s Office, real estate purchase contracts, and easement acceptances. Public commenters raised code-enforcement concerns and suggested adding city-code compliance requirements to future tow-truck contracts; no action was taken on that proposal. The council also unanimously approved ordinances vacating portions of Winton Street and Clifford Street.
