The Elmhurst CUSD 205 Board of Education Committee of the Whole met on October 21, 2026, to review preliminary, embargoed 2025–26 Illinois assessment and school-designation results and reflect on the district’s five-year Student Journey of Excellence strategic plan. Administrators reported that all schools were projected to receive an exemplary or approaching exemplary designation, and highlighted five-year proficiency gains in grades 3–8 of 28 percentage points in ELA and 24 points in math, a 92% AP exam pass rate at York High School, graduation rates above 94%, and teacher retention of 94%. They also reviewed school-level strengths and improvement priorities, including math, literacy, English learner progress, and supports for students with disabilities.
The discussion focused on refining strategic priorities, strengthening instructional practices and tiered student supports, improving student-staff connections, and monitoring student participation and outcomes. Board members asked for clearer benchmarks and comparisons, and suggested continued attention to behavioral and mental-health interventions, post-screening supports, and access to extracurricular and career-pathway opportunities. No contracts, bids, vendor selections, purchases, budget allocations, or formal spending actions were identified; the meeting focused on educational performance and planning rather than procurement.
