The Marion County Public Water Authority meeting on October 13, 2026, reviewed progress on water-line construction funded in part by grants and federal funds. Robinson’s and Sons was reported to be roughly 30–35% complete on its project, with work underway on service connections and fire hydrants; Power Builders was expected to return after a permitting delay and finish within a few weeks. Members discussed hydrant placement, extending service to additional homes, construction restoration and warranty repairs, and the limits of available project funding. No new construction contract awards or spending votes were reported. The Authority approved the August and September financial reports by motion and vote.
The Authority also discussed planning for a future meter-reading data collection system, including supplier studies and an Itron cellular transmitter proposal. Members said they need final project costs and remaining funds from current work before setting a budget or proceeding toward bidding. An accounting engagement was discussed, with an estimate of about $20,000–$25,000 annually (compared with $25,000 previously); a decision was deferred to the next meeting. The next meeting was scheduled for November 17.
