The St. George City Council meeting on August 6, 2026, approved a FY2027 budget amendment for bus canopies at the new SunTran operations facility. The canopies are to be installed through a change order to the existing Bonneville contract; the proposed change order was $861,985.74. Staff also referenced an amendment amount of $461,986 and state funds associated with the Zion route. Resolution 2026-017R was approved unanimously after a public hearing. The consent calendar was approved with one item removed; discussion indicated the canopies would benefit all 16 SunTran buses, including the Zion route. No new bid or vendor selection was identified.

The council also approved conditional use permits and general-plan or zoning amendments for private developments, and approved an ordinance updating fence regulations for larger-lot zones by a 3–2 vote. Public commenters raised concerns about neighborhood traffic speeds and fire-station staffing; council members discussed existing fire staffing and response-time review, but no related spending action was taken. The meeting also included a National Farmers Market Week proclamation. Other than the SunTran budget amendment and contract change order, no additional procurement activity was identified.
