The City of Sacramento Disabilities Advisory Commission met on June 4, 2025. The commission received an update on the Two Rivers Trail Phase 3 project, including planned accessible trail features and environmental review work for Phases 3 and 4. Phase 4 would address difficult crossings near Highway 160 and railroad tracks; staff said its design and construction are not currently funded. Commissioners also discussed a draft accessibility guide for special-event permit applicants. Suggestions included an accessibility checklist, training, a list of vetted vendors, and city-provided or lower-cost accessibility equipment. Staff will continue gathering input from organizers and consider the suggestions; no procurement award or purchasing decision was made. The city’s special-events grant program was also noted as a potential resource for organizers.

In the staff report, staff said the Freeport and Kitchener project is scheduled to be advertised later in 2025, with a construction award anticipated in early 2026. Signal and cabinet equipment lead times and coordination with other agencies are affecting delivery. No contract amount or vendor was identified. The commission approved its May meeting minutes and follow-up log by roll-call vote; other project and accessibility discussions were informational, with no spending-related motions or awards recorded.
