The City of Sacramento Disabilities Advisory Commission met on February 5, 2025. Staff presented the 2024–25 prospective ADA rights-of-way implementation plan under the 2003 Bardon settlement, which requires the City to dedicate 20% of annual transportation funds to curb ramps and removal of accessibility barriers for 30 years; staff said about eight years remain. The estimated obligation for this year is $6,969,000. The presentation identified $2,289,000 for curb ramps, detectable warning tiles, and sidewalks, and $177,000 for the citizen request program; other figures in the transcript’s breakdown are unclear. The plan also covers accessible pedestrian signals and multiple safety and mobility projects, some in design or moving toward construction. Commissioners provided comments, but no vote on the plan was recorded. Staff clarified that the Commission comments on projects rather than approving them, and said the plan would later go to City Council.

Staff also presented the Morrison Creek revitalization study, supported by a California Department of Water Resources grant. The planning concepts include native vegetation restoration and a 1.2-mile shared-use trail with pedestrian crossings; no construction contract or procurement award was discussed. The Commission discussed possible future agenda items, including emergency evacuation accessibility and the proposed American River bridge. The consent calendar passed, but no procurement-related action was identified in that vote.
