At its October 12, 2026 meeting, the Homewood City Council approved the city’s agreement with OpenGov for financial management, budgeting, and administrative software services (Resolution 26-121); no contract amount was stated. The Council also approved lease and facilities-use agreements with the Chamber of Commerce and H&H Eats, without discussion of costs, and approved the period’s vouchers. It set November 30 at 4:31 p.m. as the bid opening for interchange mowing. The Council approved right-of-way encroachments for drainage, sump-pump, and irrigation work at 300 and 302 Edgewood Boulevard, subject to indemnification agreements: the irrigation approvals passed 3–2, while the sump-pump/drainage approvals passed 5–0. Members discussed creating an administrative process and safeguards for future right-of-way applications. No dollar amounts were provided for these agreements or actions.

The Council held public hearings on final development plans for The Woods outdoor entertainment venue and Samford University’s proposed South Campus student housing, but deferred votes on both until October 26. It also read an ordinance concerning extension of Level 3 Communications’ telecommunications franchise, with discussion and a vote deferred to a later meeting. The meeting additionally included routine proclamations, approval of speed cushions, and the city manager’s performance evaluation; no other procurement awards were identified.
