Planning Commission Meeting (10/12/2026)

At its October 12, 2026 meeting, the City of Jacksonville Beach Planning Commission considered conditional-use application PC06-26 for a privately owned cable landing station and data distribution facility at 100 Third Street North, with office space and a proposed commercial unit and outdoor seating. The revised plan added about 2,100 square feet of commercial space, a patio, bicycle parking, tenant parking, and seven on-street parking spaces; it also removed a vehicle access point on Third Street. Staff recommended approval, citing the added street-facing activity and compatibility with the area.

The Commission amended the proposed approval to limit the commercial unit to restaurant, retail, commercial, or gallery uses, then voted on the application as amended. The application was denied, 3–2. No procurement, contract award, or spending decision was identified.
