The Papillion La Vista Community Schools Board of Education met on October 12, 2026. The board discussed a proposed purchase of 475 school radios for building-level communications and safety, with an estimated cost of $186,785.25. The radios would standardize equipment across schools and be purchased through local vendor First Wireless using Motorola equipment. Staff said the estimate was lower than earlier projections because districtwide repeaters would not be needed; the board discussed the proposal but did not vote on a purchase. The board also reviewed a future transportation RFP, expected next fall, which may ask bus companies to include a pay-to-ride option; no transportation changes are planned before then. A middle-school land purchase and tier-three costs were also discussed in committee, with no action reported.

The board approved the 2026–27 property tax levy resolution, with the total levy described as just over $1.08 and 1.3 cents lower than the prior year, and approved an option-enrollment resolution that closes Ashbury, Bell, Lincoln View, and Papillion Middle School to new option-enrollment placements because of capacity constraints. Elementary boundary changes for planned housing developments and a possible future engagement with RSP were discussed, but no action was taken on those items.
