Columbia County committee meetings—Management and Internal Services, followed by Development and Planning Services—were held October 13, 2026. The Management and Internal Services Committee approved or advanced several spending items: a coroner’s-office maintenance agreement with Augusta Chiller for $2,738.28 annually; Mainline Information Systems’ Unitrends support renewal for $117,546.34 through the Omnia Partners contract, along with a related Unitrends appliance payment whose amount was not stated; and a $67,473.55 Dell Technologies purchase of video-management system servers, funded by SPLOST and procured under a state contract. The committee also approved a required budget adjustment to keep departments within budgetary limits and a deductive change order for the Sheriff’s Detention Dorm phase-two project with Arty Brown Contractors, returning $71,426.12 to the county because the project finished under budget. The December 8 schedule for the county’s committee meetings was also approved.
In Development and Planning Services, the committee approved alcohol-license applications, including one for Augusta Kitchen Company for off-premises beer and wine sales, and approved applying Vault 221’s previously paid $1,125 retail-consumption license fee to its renewed application rather than charging it twice. It also approved a residential waterline encroachment into a utility easement and road-name changes with code variances. Staff presented options for adding the Board of Commissioners meeting date to public-hearing signs; no action was taken, and potential sign, installation, and fee impacts were discussed. No other procurement awards were identified in this committee’s agenda.
