The Mid-Del Schools Board meeting, held October 12, 2026, approved several facilities and technology purchases. The board approved Chickasaw Telecom, Inc. to provide network switches and associated licenses for Townson Elementary; True Product LLC to furnish CareHawk intercom systems for Midwest City Elementary, Soldier Creek Elementary, and the Learning Service Center; Universal Roofing and Sheet Metal to replace roof sections at Mid-Del High School; and Bolt and ADG Black for planning upcoming technology-center building and site improvements for FY2027–29. It also approved a new OG&E transformer for the maintenance building at a cost of $33,113, and the purchase of an educational robot for the technology center. Facility work for two high schools was also approved, with the vendor and details unclear in the transcript; work for the third high school is expected to come forward after bids are received. Motions for these items were approved; most other purchase amounts were not stated.
The board also approved an update to policy I-28 related to the Strong Readers Act and a slate of representatives for the Oklahoma Liquid Asset Pool. The superintendent’s legislative update discussed potential effects of State Question 847 on district revenues and bond repayment, as well as possible state requirements concerning student screen time, recess, and reading progress monitoring. A parent raised concerns about students accessing YouTube during class; the superintendent noted that instructional uses of screens and proposed legislative limits were already part of the district’s ongoing discussion.
