# October 12, 2026 Rockingham County Planning Board Meeting

**Body:** Rockingham Update
**Date:** October 11, 2026
**Jurisdiction:** SLED

The Rockingham County Planning Board met on October 12, 2026, and considered two conventional rezoning requests. The board voted to recommend approval of case 2026-19, rezoning 3.68 acres near Ashfield Loop Road from Residential Protected to Residential Agricultural. It voted to recommend denial of case 2026-20, which sought to rezone 0.9 acres at 565 Mount Zion Church Road to Neighborhood Commercial to allow parking for dump trucks. The board cited inconsistency with the land use plan and concerns about the proposed use in a residential area. Both recommendations are scheduled for consideration by the Board of Commissioners on November 16; the commissioners will make the final decisions.

The board also received an update that a previously discussed Unified Development Ordinance amendment had been tabled by the commissioners for minor language revisions and was expected to return on a consent agenda. No procurement, contracts, spending, or budget allocations were identified.
