The Edison Township Zoning Board of Adjustment’s regular meeting on October 13, 2026, considered several land-use applications; no procurement contracts, bids, vendor selections, or purchasing decisions were identified. The board unanimously approved bulk variances for Patricia Shean to reconstruct her fire-damaged single-family home at 13 Short Street, subject to applicable engineering and code requirements. It also unanimously approved PSEG’s preliminary and final site plan and use and bulk variances for improvements to its existing training campus at 101 Silver Lake Road, including a modular classroom and mock residential training structures. The project includes site, parking, landscaping, and lighting work; testimony described the campus as serving utility-worker training and potential joint exercises with local emergency responders.

The board also considered a proposed settlement for Care One’s revised memory-care facility application at 1350 Inman Avenue, involving a 114-unit, 122-bed facility and site-plan and variance approvals. Neighbors raised concerns about traffic, noise, drainage, safety, and effects on the residential area; the applicant presented updated traffic and acoustic studies and proposed design changes. A motion to approve conditioned on waiving a $550,000 settlement payment was amended to include the applicant’s offered $100,000 contribution for traffic-related improvements, but the motion failed 4–2. The earlier case Z31205 was carried to December 15, 2026, without renotice.
