The Livonia Public Schools Board of Education Committee of the Whole continuation meeting was held October 12, 2026. Operations staff and Plant Moran RealPoint reviewed the 2026 sinking-fund work and three-year project outlook. Completed projects included roofing at Buchanan, Cooper, Hoover, and Franklin High School; paving; pool filtration equipment; a central-office generator; and a water-main replacement. The work was bid about $1.8 million under budget, and nearly $800,000 in unused allowances and contingencies will return to the sinking fund. The district reported about $70 million in sinking-fund work since 2016 and discussed planned 2027–2029 roofing, paving, signage, play-pad, turf, and bleacher projects. No contract awards or procurement votes were recorded. The bond-program dashboard showed about $16.6 million remaining in Series 3 and approximately $5.2 million planned for next summer’s final technology phase, including printers, copiers, phones, digital signage, mobile devices, and network equipment; planning and procurement are underway.

The board also received a facilities-use update reporting about $734,000 in lease and facility-use revenue, and a financial update showing revenue of about $188 million and expenditures of about $190 million for the prior school year, with expenditures $1.3 million below budget. Ford Philanthropy donations included a $9,300 grant used to purchase 10 laptops for robotics teams and a $10,000 grant supporting backpacks and school supplies, with the remaining $630 allocated to supplies for the Garfield Garments free store. The board reviewed proposed policy and administrative-procedure language on supplemental instructional materials and student internet safety; these were discussion items, not procurement decisions. No spending or purchasing motions were reported.
