The Pickerington Local School District Board of Education held its regular meeting on October 12, 2026. The board approved the agenda, prior meeting minutes, a payment certificate, donations, and the consent agenda. The certificate included golf greens fees charged to athletic funds; the consent agenda included personnel actions and continuation of services for one student. No RFPs, contract awards, vendor selections, or capital project approvals were identified. The treasurer reported September cash flow of negative $1.43 million, year-to-date all-funds results of negative $421,000, and $6.72 million in state fair-school-funding revenue for the month. The district also reported $19 million in construction funds and $10 million in insurance-benefit funds.

Public comment focused on school funding pressures and potential effects on staffing and student programs. A support-staff representative said the district had lost about $45 million in state funding over the prior biennial budget because of the voucher program, and noted that the district had received about $1.4 million in E-rate discounts since 2021 for telecommunications and network infrastructure; possible reductions to the program could shift those costs to the district. The board also received Heritage Elementary’s school report-card presentation and reviewed a draft 2027–28 calendar for information. The calendar discussion noted that workdays are subject to union negotiation and instructional hours are state-mandated.
