The DeKalb City Council’s regular meeting on October 12, 2026, approved the consent agenda, including accounts payable and payroll of approximately $2.83 million, along with financial reports. The main procurement actions were approval of Resolution 2026-082 to replace a totaled police Dodge Durango for $62,465, priced below the Illinois Central Management Services contract. The City Manager said funds from seized assets would cover the purchase and an insurance settlement was expected to offset some of the cost; the vehicle would be obtained through the state bid process from Scalina Dodge. The resolution passed unanimously.
The council also unanimously approved Resolution 2026-083 for airport pavement work on a primary movement area connecting a runway with the terminal and hangars. The stated city local share was $76,198.61; the work involves removing about two inches of pavement and replacing it with three inches, with support from the Illinois Department of Transportation. The council approved a license agreement with the DeKalb Township Road District for a welcome sign, with no cost stated. It also approved two liquor-license applications: Celito Lindo’s package liquor license passed 6–1, and Provicho HMF LLC’s full restaurant liquor license passed unanimously. No RFPs or competitive bid solicitations were discussed.
