The MVLA Board of Trustees meeting on October 12, 2026, included a study-session review of the district’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Staff described academic, behavioral, attendance, and social-emotional supports, with a focus this year on defining and tracking Tier 2 interventions, quarterly data reviews, and piloting the Branching Minds platform. Trustees requested measurable goals, data on intervention reach and effectiveness, and clearer timelines for pilots; staff was asked to return with further information. No MTSS-related contract award or spending approval was made. A hypothetical $100,000 amount was mentioned in connection with capacity for a past screening effort, not as a current allocation.

The board approved a change order for the Mountain View High School gym project to add two fire hydrants required by the Division of the State Architect and Mountain View Fire. The change order was approximately $48,000; the affected contractor bid package was about $285,000, while the overall project was approximately $17.5 million. Because the change order exceeded 10% of that bid package, the board approved a futility resolution rather than rebidding the work; the motion passed 5–0. The consolidated agenda, including warrants, was also approved. Trustees discussed warrant entries including two vans purchased from Mission Valley Ford, but no separate purchasing action was taken on those items.
