At its October 12, 2026 meeting, the Northshore School District Board approved the consent agenda and extended a district labor-partner memorandum of understanding through June 30, 2027; the transcript renders the partner’s name as “NASA.” The Board also approved Resolution 924, required by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction for facilities inventory accounting on projects receiving state financial assistance. The resolution covers buildings scheduled for demolition that are included in SCAP funding eligibility; other portions of the original construction are not currently eligible. No dollar amounts or specific contract values were stated. The Superintendent also reported that locally sourced food at Northshore Middle School was supported by the second year of a two-year Food to School grant.
Public commenters urged the district to review student technology use, including I-Ready, individual devices, generative AI, privacy, and screen time, and proposed district-wide guidelines and a technology review process. These matters were not on the agenda, and the Board took no action on them. A speaker also requested easier access to district facilities and volunteer processes for Scouting America. The meeting included Cascadia College’s annual presentation on enrollment and potential state budget reductions, but no district procurement decision followed from it.
