The Washoe County School District Board of Trustees’ regular meeting on October 13, 2026, approved several procurement and capital items. The consent agenda passed unanimously. The Board renewed the districtwide OnBase hosted document-management system maintenance agreement with Navant for $380,122.66 for November 1, 2026–October 31, 2027. It also unanimously approved $8.5 million for the design phase of the Sparks High School modernization; Collaborative Design had been selected through an RFQ, and staff said a CMAR solicitation was forthcoming. The Board unanimously approved $46,457,220 in major-project funding for the administrative facilities plan. A separate motion was made and seconded to approve the purchase-and-sale agreement for 5250 South Virginia Street and an adjacent parcel, with the superintendent directed to complete due diligence and close if the properties clear it; the vote result is not captured in the transcript.

Staff described the administrative-property plan as a projected cost of just under $46.5 million, funded using $20 million from the debt-service fund, $5 million from the building-and-sites fund, and up to $21.5 million in bonds, with proceeds from a future sale of the current Ninth Street site expected to reduce or repay the bond amount. The Board also considered bond resolution 26-021 authorizing up to $164 million in 2026C school-improvement bonds for the $50 million capital-renewal plan, a $92.9 million elementary school at the current Pine Middle School site, and the administrative-facilities project; the transcript does not capture the resolution’s vote. Trustees discussed the need to balance administrative investment with school-site needs. School Police reported that Safe Routes to School relies on NDOT TAP grants, RTC support, and a 5% district match, and that staff are assessing future funding and technology needs.
