LBUSD Boarding Meeting (10/8/2026)

The Los Banos Unified School District Board of Trustees held its regular meeting on October 8, 2026. Procurement and facilities business included approval of Amendment No. 1 to Manini Associates Inc.’s architectural services agreement for the Pacheco High School baseball turf field; the project’s final construction cost was reported at approximately $2.6 million. The board also approved an architectural agreement with SKW and Associates for a preschool shade structure, funded by an EP grant. Fortify Partners Inc.’s contract was pulled from the agenda and was not considered. Staff reported that bidding is expected to follow DSA review of plans for a Grasslands special education building, with construction tentatively planned for next summer.

The board approved several change orders: $76,970.04 for demolition and hazardous-material abatement at Los Banos High School; $29,798.15 for site work addressing path-of-travel safety and electrical-line conditions; $37,620.04 for electrical work; and approximately $34,414 for the Pacheco turf project. The Los Banos High School modernization change orders were charged to the project’s board-approved $4.1 million contingency; the Pacheco project change order was charged to its $219,500 contractor contingency. The facilities report also covered ongoing modernization work and storm-readiness preparations. A community speaker raised the possibility of using athletics funds toward a proposed $250,000 digital scoreboard, but no board action or funding commitment was made.
