The Warrick County Area Plan Commission (APC) met on October 12, 2026, and considered several subdivision plats and rezoning petitions. It approved the Jenner Farms primary plat for a 63-lot residential subdivision, including a waiver allowing sidewalks on only one side of a road, and recommended approval of the associated agricultural-to-R1A rezoning (PC-R-26-08). The commission also approved the Grove development plat, subject to listed waivers and conditions—including a sewer-capacity letter, street-address requirements, and coordination on a proposed road-name change—and recommended approval of its C4 PUD rezoning (PC-R-26-07). Other petitions included a request to rezone industrial property to R1A for a home, which was advanced for the October 26 commissioners’ meeting, and a request to rezone an R2 lot to R2B for a four-unit building. The latter received APC support by a vote with one opposed and was set for the November 9 commissioners’ meeting; residents raised concerns about trees, drainage, and neighborhood fit. The APC also agreed to expedite review of a separate plat for site review on October 14 ahead of a November 9 hearing.
No contract awards, vendor selections, RFPs, or purchasing decisions were identified. In budget-related business, staff said the APC lacked funds for attorney bills under a longstanding arrangement, and that additional funds would need to be requested from the County Council; commissioners also sought reimbursement for legal costs paid so far that year. The APC voted to continue efforts to resolve the funding arrangement, and staff noted that next year’s budget would need to account for the expense. The data center study group was reported to have stopped meeting as the county considered a different direction.
