The City of Corona Planning and Housing Commission met on October 12, 2026. The Commission approved consent item 5.1, adopting Resolution 2699 to find a proposed vacation of public access, utility, and water easements consistent with the General Plan (4–0). It also approved, by separate 4–0 votes, two-year extensions for Greens Development’s previously approved 1.4-acre commercial project at 231 South Lincoln Avenue: CUP extension 2026-0003 (Resolution 2697) and precise plan extension 2026-0005 (Resolution 2698). The project includes an automated car wash, gas station, and convenience store. No contract awards, vendor selections, or purchasing decisions were identified.
Discussion of the extension focused on delays involving construction materials and coordination with Caltrans and Southern California Edison. The applicant said building plans were permit-ready and described unresolved Caltrans comments concerning a possible right-turn lane and driveway location that could require redesign; staff said the parties would continue coordinating under the original approval conditions. The Commission supported granting the requested time to resolve the issues. Staff also reported that a tower project near Chase and Magnolia had received a building-permit extension and was expected to be completed in November.
